Becoming a better blogger…

So anyone who reads this blog even casually will know that I’m often apologizing for my lack of blogging diligence.  For some reason, it’s easier for me to write the occasional 2000 word piece for Rob than it is to rip off a couple of paragraphs a few times a week.  Call it blogformance anxiety.

I think that’s why I’ve gone months without posting to my very own blog.  So let’s try something new.  Some stream of consciousness goodness.

I noticed last week that some, if not all of my students use Youtube to learn how to do stuff, or watch videos to answer their questions.  How to make music on Garageband?  Ask Youtube.  Youtube is now the Encyclopedia Britannica from my childhood.  Except I only had the 1979 version.

And of course at this very moment, the social networking systems that I use mainly to promote my art career are on the verge of a second national Arab revolution in two weeks.  Hosni Mubarak and his evil secret police were able to withstand everything that anyone threw at him, but they’re getting crushed by Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.

We are in fact living in interesting times…

BTW, I tried to install Discus so that people could comment directly on the blog, but it doesn’t appear to be working.  If I can’t sort it out, I’m going to migrate to wordpress at some point in the next couple of months.  With plenty of notice, of course.
